Elliptical Orbits around the Earth

Possible Elliptical Satellite orbits

There are 3 satellites shown in "orbit" around the center object (the Earth). The RED one is the geo-synchronous circular orbit (1 orbit = 24 hours .. for the animation, this has been scaled to 10 seconds).
The other two have larger or smaller velocities at their start, so they move out or fall in to elliptical orbits (note, the circular orbit is a special case of the elliptical!).

The outer ellipse has a starting speed of 1.2 times the geosynchronous speed .. and thus has a period that is 2.38 times the geo-orbit (thus ~23.8 seconds in the animation).

The outer ellipse has a starting speed of 0.8 times the geosynchronous speed .. and thus has a period that is 0.63 times the geo-orbit (thus 0.63 days) (or ~6.3 seconds in the animation).
