Fun with Time Lapse photography

This is the cheap way to do it ... take a series of pictures every X minutes, scan them in, and create an animated GIF file to illustrate the changes that occur over time in the scene.

Click on an image if you want to see that one run alone.

Fall 1998 - First day of classes

These images were taken about every 10 minutes for about 24 frames. You can see the shadow of the middle building crawl across the face of the rightmost building. Also, the shadow of the tree in the lower right corner moves around as the sun comes up. Starting time was about 7:00 AM.

Fall 1999 - First day of classes

These images were taken about every 10 minutes for about 36 frames. This started out as a rainy day .. but as the day goes on, you can see the sidewalks dry up a little. Starting time was about 7:00 AM.

Animated balloons in my apartment

If you haven't already seen it .. check out the balloon moving through my apartment mysteriously. (I'll point you to the main balloon page, there is a link to the animated gif from there - but you need the explanation to know what you are looking at!)

Animated balloons in Howel Michigan (at the Balloon Fest)

Here is another page elsewhere on my site that has some animated gifs of balloons at the Howell BalloonFest 1999.
